It is a sad fact that there is no such thing as a free meal. It is also said that some things can be too good to be true. A free version of the Ares file sharing software that promises great things? Where do I sign up?!?

But hold your horses there, my friend. Ares Destiny is one of those fabled ‘free lunches’. Whilst it is true that there is no upfront fee to pay, there is a collateral fee that everyone must pay. And it is a big price to pay. The fact is this: when you download and install Ares Destiny you will, unknowingly, install a nasty piece of spyware and adware called Dealio.

Dealio is touted as a shopping comparison toolbar. What it is in actual fact is adware that will frustrate and annoy with pop ups. All the time. And it is really, really difficult to get off yours system once you’ve quickly come to the conclusion that you don’t want it there.

Ares Destiny itself is fine. It’s not great and it has some flaws, but it does its job pretty well. Certainly the download and installation procedure is flawless, but that’s not really surprising considering the skeletons that they’re trying to hide away!
